"Plein Air" is a French expression which means "in the openair" and is particularly used in fine art to describe the act of painting outdoors. This year's forecast is a reflection of soft, natural brights reminiscent of a sunny day.
The Pantone color forecast for Spring 2015 was pretty much dead-on at the Grammy's this year, particularly "custard" - a rich yellow / gold color. Yellow is a tricky color to pull off and formerly rarely seen in red carpet evening wear but this year the sunny color was shining on Andrea Riseborough, Emma Stone and Romona Keveza just to name a few.
Oceanic blues - "Aquamarine", "Scuba" and the sea-foam green color called "Lucite Green" were also apparent. Taylor Swift stole the show in a bright teal and blue ombré Elie Saab gown. Chrissie Teigan and Rita Ora also chose watery blue gowns.
"Toasted Almond", "Strawberry Ice" and "Tangerine" were represented in all their deliciousness on Jlo, Anna Kendrick and Fergie. Toasted Almond and Strawberry Ice seemed as though they were made for Jlo and Anna Kendrick and only Fergie could pull off in-your-face, see-through Tangerine with black beneath without looking like a Halloween nightmare.
