Tricky Trend We Love: Shorter Sensible Hair Extensions

Tricky Trend We Love: Amped Up Shorter Hair

We've been noticing lately that hair ain't what it used to be.  It's shorter, more sensible and dare we still sexy.  But the reason we are calling this a Tricky Trend we love is that is extremely hard to find that perfect length where hair still seems soft feminine and long yet not too matronly or too sexy.  An 1/2" can make all the difference so we'd thought we'd share the trick to getting this look right.
  1. Aim for One Inch past your Armpit.  This should fall somewhere above your bra strap but below your collarbone.  For most women 16" is the perfect length for hair extensions to achieve this look.
  2. Compensate with Volume:Just because you see your fave celebrities with shorter hair does not mean they have foregone hair extensions.  In fact they have usually added more hair to create the volume that shorter hair needs to look sexy. Use the same amount of hair you might have used in the past if you wore your hair longer.
  3. Compensate with Texture:  This is key! Stick straight hair can be very unforgiving at this length.  Opt instead for loose waves or braid your hair and then flat iron to get an accidental tousled look.  Never curl the ends of hair this length: it's a one-way ticket to matronly!
